THE WALGREENS TRAINING CENTER
AT THE ANDERSON COUNTY DISABILITIES
AND SPECIAL NEEDS BOARD
IS LOCATED BEHIND THE
212 & 214 BUILDINGS ON McGEE ROAD.
|
The Walgreens Training Center is designed and equipped to offer persons with disabilities and special needs the opportunity to receive “hands-on” training to prepare them to apply for employment at the Walgreens Distribution Center located in Anderson, South Carolina.
The training is “free-of-charge” to those persons selected to receive the training.
How Do You Get Selected To Receive Training?
The Disabilities and Special Needs Boards in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee and Pickens Counties will administer an Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs Board Walgreens Consumer/Applicant Pre-Training Assessment to all interested persons eligible to receive services by their local DSN board.
Once the assessment data has been reviewed by the Assessment Team, each individual will be notified if they’ve been accepted into the Training Program; also called Phase I. Once accepted, you will be given a schedule of your training dates and time. During your training you will need to complete and demonstrate a set of job competency skills required of all Walgreens employees.
After you have successfully completed Phase I of the training program, with acceptable efficiency (task accuracy and productivity rate), you will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your newly acquired skills at the Walgreens Distribution Center; which is called the Transitional Phase or Phase II.
During the Transitional Phase you will be accompanied by a qualified DSN Trainer/Job Coach that will assist and monitor you with On-The-Job Training; in which you will also be compensated for all work performed. Your Transitional Phase or Phase II will last up to 45 days. During this time frame, Walgreens staff will review your performance, including your productivity and accuracy rates, and determine whether or not you are eligible for hire.
If you met Walgreens’ standards for employment, Walgreens will then offer you a job.
(This training does not guarantee you employment with Walgreens, but it does offer you the opportunity to receive the necessary skills to compete for employment!)
